Do you know how to throw a party!  Are you a student in school looking to graduate with a degree in Event Management or are you retried and like to plan events for friends and business?   Do you have an interest in public safety and community involvement?  How about getting some real experience along with helping your community.    Interested? If so keep reading!


About Our Program


Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is a non-profit organization that partners with local law enforcement, media and our communities to reduce crime.  We provide anonymous voice, text, and web platforms for our communities to use to report crime and criminals.  We also provide rewards for tipsters whose information leads to felony arrests. 


What We Need


We are looking for an Event Coordinator Intern or Volunteer to maintain and enhance our fundraising and community events.  The position would also include researching new and interesting ways for Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana to raise money and help our community.  We are looking for a volunteer or student who would bring enthusiasm and commitment to Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana.  This position is a volunteer position but could earn course credit hours if your university agrees.


Length of Internship/volunteer span; 12 months

Hours: Flexible hours, work from home; attend some meetings in Indianapolis as needed.


Main Events

§  Crime Stoppers Golf Classic

§  Spring Community Shred-it Event

§  Fall Community Shred-it Event

§  Various Community events such as National Night Out, IMPD Community Days, etc.


Who Should Apply


§  This position can be filled by a student that is enrolled part-time or full time in a college or university.  We will also consider a volunteer for this position if they have available time and resources for the position.

§  We will also consider an in-kind donation from event management companies if they would like to join our board of directors. 


Intern/Volunteer Tasks


§  Recruiting volunteers along with creating and updating a volunteer database.

§  Writing business partners to solicit prizes and donations for Crime Stopper events.

§  Taking events from start to finish with help from Crime Stoppers staff and Board of Directors.

§  Creating sponsorship packages to make our events more saleable.
